Très bien! Pete drove us to the vineyard and told us lots of interesting info on the way about the wine of the region. He then showed us the vines, and explained the different ways they are pruned and trained. We were lucky to be there on an open day for the producer, which meant there were locals there choosing their wine for the summer, and stalls selling local cheeses, meats and more. We sampled about 7 wines (very healthy measures) made by the very friendly Angelique, and Pete explained the different grapes used, tastes etc. Even my boyfriend, who doesn’t drink at all, really enjoyed the day and sampled the jus du raisin instead. A very lovely afternoon visiting the vines, visiting the caves and tasting the wine around Châteaumeillant. It was a very informative 3 hours with lots of information given about the area by Peter, who drove us there and back, who knows his wine. We had a lovely tasting at two caves and had a nice conversation with the proprietors/owners of the vineyards, a lovely personal touch that you don’t get with the bigger vineyards. Angelique was a fountain of information and she offered us four wines to taste, we all loved the rosé gris, superb. A great activity of visiting friends, families and even guests staying in this region. Lyn D.

Had a wonderful afternoon touring around the vineyards of Chateaumeillant in the sunshine learning all about winemaking from Peter! Fantastic scenery and very informative. Then a couple of stops to meet two wine makers and taste their products ( so good I had to buy a few bottles!!). Thanks for a great few hours. Highly recommended! Kate C.

Fantastic tour! Peter was easy-going, passionate and gave us a lot of great information about a region we knew very little about. We enjoyed seeing, and learning about, the vines and the production facilities – although the tastings of course were the best part! One of the reds at Pierre Picot’s vineyard is now one of my favourites and I wish I’d bought more…Sam J.
